Sewerby Cliff Top

Are you crazy for golf?

This years show featured the Bridlington Model Boat Society, Sack races, Egg and Spoon races for the children, Laser Quest battles, minature golf course, childrens fairground rides and much more.

The crowning glory of the day was the annual parade that made it's way through Bridlington to end on the cliff tops at the Gala. The weather nearly behaved itself and stayed dry for most of the day.

The Gala also helped raise money for many charities. The Royal Air Forces Association stall's can be seen in the picture below.

Gala

July 28th 2002

Sewerby Cricket Club, boasting the most scenic cricket pitch in the world, held it's annual gala on Sunday 28 July 2002. The gala featured a Majorettes competition, helicopter rides, karate exhibition, tombolla stalls, model boats & helicopters and this year included the American car rally.

The gala was a tremendous success with the temperature around 25C and over 15,000 visitors attending. Ken Saul said in the Free Press, "The weather couldn't have been better if we'd tried. We have not had rain on a gala day for the last 13 years."

The Royal National Life Institute was just one of the many charities that had a stall at both gala's.
