From April onwards, the cliffs at Bempton and Flamborough provide
breeding ledges for over 200,000 birds - the largest seabird city
in England!
These cruises are ideal for both birdwatching beginners
and the more experienced enthusiast. During the three hour round-trip
from Bridlington Harbour to the seabird colony of Flamborough
Head, we will see many birds on the water or flying between their
feeding grounds and the cliffs.
Colourful Puffins swim around the boat and feeding gannets can
often be seen plunging headfirst into the sea. The best time to
see the puffins is between May and early July when they are actively
feeding their young.
Kittiwakes, Razorbills, Ganets and Guillemots also
nest on the cliff ledges. Gannets can be seen here from January
to November, but they are most active between April and August
when they are breeding and they travel vast distances to find
food. RSPB sources indicate that they travel over 50 miles to
find food.
Also look out for grey seals!
